OWNER'S BIO
Born and raised in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Attended North Hagerstown High
School where I was on the football team, wrestling team, and I ran Track and
Field 1 year as a long distance runner.
Join the United States Marine Corps
during the summer between my junior and senior year in High School. My senior
year I already knew what I was going to be during after I graduated.
I reported to Marine Corps Recruit
Depot Parris Island, South Carolina on June 25, 1981. I was assigned to Platoon 1048 “Bravo”
Company. I was meritously promoted to
Private First Class before graduating boot camp.
After boot camp I was sent to Naval
Air Station Millington,Tennessee for courses in the Fundamental of Aircraft
Maintenance and Aircraft Structural Maintenance School.
I was assigned to work on the F4
Phantom aircraft as a Structural Mechanic after completing basic aircraft
courses and went to Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia for specific aircraft
training.
My first Fleet Marine Force unit was Headquarters
and Maintenance Squadron 31 on Marine Corps Air Station Beafourt, South
Carolina. I made several overseas deployments with various units as support
personnel. During this time I was promoted to Lance Corporal and then to
Corporal.
After the Military retired the F4
Phantom, I was retrained as a Structural and Hydraulics Mechanic for the F/A-18
Hornet. I was later assigned to my first “Gun” squadron (VMFA-122 “Crusaders”)
and made several deployments overseas.
During my career, I served on
several Aircraft Carriers and held many supervisory jobs to include: Collateral
Duty Inspector, Quality Assurance Representative. I was Aircraft Engine Turn-up
Qualified.
I retired from the Marine Corps in
July of 2001 as a Gunnery Sergeant (E-7), while serving as the
Maintenance/Material Control Chief of VMFA-314 “Black Knights”.
After retiring my plan was to take
several months off and relax. While shopping at, Lowes Home Improvement
Warehouse. I saw a “help wanted” sign
for Hardware Associates.
I was hired as a Hardware associate
and later became the Hardware Department Manager.
